Ethics

At EssilorLuxottica, we are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in our relations with all our stakeholders. Upholding this commitment is essential to our success and reputation, and ultimately our ability to fulfill our Mission of helping people see more and be more.

As part of the Eyes on Ethics pillar of our Eyes on the Planet sustainability program, we have developed a set of ethics-related resources and tools that reflect our evolution as a unified Group as well as our values. They are presented in EssilorLuxottica’s Code of Ethics, which our employees are expected to uphold.

Our expectations also extend to business partners across our supply chain, as outlined in our Business Partners’ Code of Conduct. We adopt a policy of zero tolerance to corruption in all of our business activities. Our Modern Slavery Statement, developed in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act, details the steps taken by the Group to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. In addition, our Group-wide internal reporting “whistleblowing” system, SpeakUp, allows employees and external stakeholders to report their concerns about ethics through a platform hosted by a third party.

Code of Ethics
Code of Ethics

Our Code of Ethics sets forth the principles that apply to all EssilorLuxottica employees, and governs the way we conduct our day-to-day business.

It consolidates some of our key principles and “golden rules” that our Group employees are expected to uphold, concerning our respect of people and communities, business ethics, asset protection and respect of human rights and environment.

It expressly refers to the international labor standards (ILO standards), as well as the UN Global Compact Principles on Human Rights.

This document replaces the Codes of Ethics previously in force within Essilor, Luxottica and GrandVision respectively, establishing a unified standard of conduct for the entire Group.

Business Partners’ Code of Conduct

As a global and responsible Group, EssilorLuxottica expects our business partners (such as suppliers, contractors, distributors or franchisees) to uphold certain ethical and sustainability standards. Complementing the Code of Ethics, our Business Partners' Code of Conduct updates and replaces our former sustainability charter and responsible sourcing principles. It sets out our expectations notably in terms of business ethics, labor, human rights, health & safety as well as environment.

Complementing the Code of Ethics, EssilorLuxottica also has an internal code of conduct through its Anti-Bribery and Corruption policy, and publishes a set of Anti-Bribery & Corruption principles and guidelines which provide more details regarding ethical business conduct and compliance. Committed to building a healthy business environment that is delivered with integrity, transparency and honesty, EssilorLuxottica adopts a policy of zero tolerance to corruption in all of its business activities across the Group.

SpeakUp

We strive to create a safe environment where employees and other stakeholders feel safe to raise ethical concerns or illegal behaviors confidentially and without fear of retaliation. In November 2023, EssilorLuxottica has launched a Group-wide internal reporting (“whistleblowing”) system called SpeakUp, which is being progressively rolled out.

SpeakUp is available in 19 languages, accessible 24/7 online, by smartphone (QR code) or by phone. This platform is hosted by a third party to protect anonymity. It will also be open to certain third parties, as required by applicable laws.

SpeakUp is available to our employees and other stakeholders, who can report:

  • By mobile phone: essilorluxottica.navexone.eu

  • In certain countries, through dedicated confidential phone lines.
